New West hosted the Burnaby Lakers for their final regular season meeting of the year that turned out to be thriller at Queens Park. The Bellies previously beat Burnaby 18-2 and 17-16 and this would be the third and final regular season game between these two clubs.

The Bellies opened up the scoring with the Jones brothers making it 2-0 half way through the third. Eli McLaughlin who ended up with a big night scored a minute later to get within one but Brett Mydske on transition and his first of the year scored with 27 seconds left followed by one more for New West to end the first up 4-1. Bellies goals: M Jones, J Jones, B Mydske and McBride.

Jason Jones again scored early to go up 5-1 to start the second, this was followed by five unanswered goals by the Lakers. New West got two more and after 40 the game was tied at 7-7. Bellies goals: J Jones, B Goodwin and M Jones.

A total of 10 goals were scored in the last 20 minutes of play. The lead changed six times to end in a 12-12 tie with Mitch Jones getting the equalizer on a late 6 on 5 to send this into OT. With non-sudden victory in play, Jason Jones scored at 2:40 in and that ended up being all that was needed. New West with the win 13-12 and a 5 point spread on second place Maple Ridge with a game in hand.
