9-7 road loss to Langley

9-7 road loss to Langley

New West went into Langley with the league lead 7-1 record and the second of three meeting against the Thunder this year. After a shoot-out at QPA a few weeks earlier and New West with the 19-14 win, this game saw a Salmonbellies offense that didn’t get going in a 9-7 road loss.

With the goalie rotation continuing, Tye Belanger was back in the net as the starter. A few other minor changes to the New West line up while Langley has their core of young players on the true at LEC.

The first period as a low scoring affair with Langley up 2-0 and on the power play Mitch Jones getting the only goal for New West of the period to finish down 2-1 to the Thunder after 20.

McQuade tied things up 2-2 early in the second on a nice play inside on Jake Sundar. Langley quickly answered back with back to back goals follow by three in a row by New West and the first lead of the game to end the second up 5-4. Bellies Goals: McQuade with two and Bunio with 2.

After exchanging a few goals, Langley finished with 3 in 3 minutes and took the game 9-7. Bellies Goals: McBride and Mitch Jones
