The New Westminster Salmonbellies spread the scoring around with 11 different players getting on the score sheet and not a single player finishing with more than 5 points.
Kevin Crowley was the top point getter on the night finishing with 5 (3 goals 2 assists) while right behind him was both Jordan McBride and Austin Shanks who both finished with 4 points (2 goals and 2 assists for each) finishing with 3 points on the night was Jason Jones (2 goals 1 assist) and Lyndon Bunio (3 assists), while Brandon Goodwin (2 goals), Anthony Malcolm (2 assists) and Jordan McKenzie also with 2 assists.
Alexis Buque got his fifth straight start to begin the season and made 27 stops on 34 Adanac shots for a .794 save percentage for his 3rd win of the season. Faceoff duties fell to both Mike Messenger and Nathan Stewart tonight with Messenger going 11-19 on the face-offs while Stewart went 2-4.
The Salmonbellies power play had plenty of chances on the night (8 to be exact) and made the Adanacs pay with 6 goals (75% conversation) rate while they were equally disciplined on the defensive side only taking 3 penalties and only allowing Coquitlam to convert on 1 of those 3 power plays (66% Penalty kill conversion). Defensive standouts for the home team tonight included Brett Mydske, Curtis Hodgson, Brendon Ranford, Reid Mydske, and Jimmy McBride.
With the win the Salmonbellies improve their season record to 3-2 (.600 win percentage) and now have a full week off before traveling to take on the Victoria Shamrocks next Friday June 14th game time is 7PM this game will be shown on the TV’s at Match Eatery & Public house New West. The Bellies next home game is Thursday June 20th against the visiting Nanaimo Timberman (please note the special start time of 7PM and that there will be no Bellies home game Next Thursday June 13th)
