Bellies with commanding 13-6 win at season opener

Head Coach Rory McDade has been anxisouly waiting the start of the season and the boys in Red and White delivered with a commanding 13-6 win over the visiting Maple Ridge Burrards. With the return of Jordan McBride and Brendan Ranford as well the recent addition of Jason Jones the Bellies did not disappoint the home crowd at historic Queens Park Arena in the Royal City.

Jordan McBride kicked it off with an early power play goal to make it 1-0 at 2:17 of the first. After exchanging goals, Schuss finished the period and took a 4-2 lead to the dressing room. Back on the power play to start the second, Mitch Jones playing along side his brother capitalized and took a 5-2 lead and eventually stretched the lead to 8-5 after two. Anthony Malcom started the third with the hat trick for the night and a 9-5 lead. Ridge answered back and then the Bellies took over with 4 straight unanswered goals.

Mitch Jones and Logan Schuss lead the team with 6 points each, followed by Austin Jerhoff, Jordan McBride and Anthony Malcom with 5 points each.

Alexis Buque started in between the pipes and faced 41 shots on 35 saves for an outstanding night.
