Burrards Within One Of Advancing To WLA Final

Bellies fall once again to the Maple Ridge Burrards last night at Planet Ice after a 10-9 loss. Burrards are within one game of taking the series and advancing to the WLA final, facing the winner of the Shamrocks/ Lakers series.

Burrards got an early lead and maintained it the entire game. They were up 3-0 before Mitch Jones scored for the Bellies, putting them right back in the game. Jones would score one more goal before receiving a 2 minute minor for tripping and a game misconduct for checking in the change box. This lit a fire under the Bellies as they went on to score three goals in a row after Jones' ejection. Burrards answered back quickly regaining a three goal lead before letting the Bellies get another one past. The game ended with a one goal separation after Jordan McBride gets the final goal with 1:20 left in the third. Penney was brought to the bench for an extra attacker on the floor, but the clock ran out before the Bellies could tie the game.

We're back at QPA this Wednesday, August 17th for game 5 of the Bellies/ Burrards series. Bellies need to win the next three in a row in order to advance to the WLA final.
