The New Westminster Salmonbellies are pleased to announce the signing of Kevin Crowley. Kevin is an esteemed lacrosse player with ample experience that gives the Bellies a new edge for the 2017 season.

“Having the ability to bring in a big body righty offensive player of Kevin’s ability is a big signing for our organization,” said Bellies GM Dan Richardson. “The fact he’s a hometown kid who played all his minor, junior and now senior again is just a bonus.”

This New West native played five years of Junior A with the Bellies, putting up a total of 41 goals and 45 assists over 38 games. He then went on to play 14 Senior A games with the Bellies totalling 21 goals and 28 assists.

“I’m extremely excited to be playing with the Bellies again. New Westminster and the Salmonbellies organization have a special place in my heart, as well as my family's.” Kevin Crowley explains. “I take a lot of pride in wearing the Bellies crest and representing my hometown. I look forward to playing in front of my friends and family and competing for the organization's 25th Mann Cup.”

Kevin was a member of Team Canada’s U-19 team in 2008, and then went on to play for Team Canada in 2010 where they were finalists in the World Lacrosse Championships played in Manchester, England. Kevin would go on to play with Team Canada once again in 2014, where Canada won 8-5 over the USA in the gold metal game. In that game, Kevin scored five of the eight Team Canada goals.

“As coaches we are very excited that Kevin is re-joining the Bellies organization,” says head coach Steve Goodwin. “He brings a high level of passion and skill to our offensive right side and continues with our goal to bring New Westminster born and raised players into the Bellies family."

Kevin is also the proud owner of many awards, including the 2009 John Urban Award as the Top Graduating Player in BCLA Junior A Series. In 2009, he was also ranked 4th in scoring in the BCLA Junior A Series. Kevin was also the first overall draft pick in the WLA, MLL and NLL.

“His experience and leadership will assist our young team both on and off the floor,” Dan Richardson added. “I think it sends the right message to our coaches, players and hopefully our fans that were serious about our chances for 2017. We’re not finished with our signings for this year. Stay tuned.”
