Decisive 11-5 Road Win In Nanaimo

With a very busy week of lacrosse for the Bellies, the Sunday road trip to Nanaimo with a shortened roster saw one of the best team games of the season and a decisive 11-5 road win to go 5-4-1 on the season and a much needed 11 day break before our next home game on July 6th vs the Maple Ridge Burrards.

Alexis Buque got the start for the second game in a row. The boys came out fly with a quick transition goal of the face-off by rookie Sean Tyrell at 0:33 seconds. New West dominated the first period and lead 5-1 heading into the intermission. Five different goal scorers including veteran defenders Hodgson and Bennett. New West continued the roll with added four more in the second and a 9-3 lead after two periods. The final frame saw a bit tighter game with two empty nets goals matching Nanaimo’s two goals for an 11-5 final Shot in favour of Nanaimo 53-46.
