Game Seven Bellies Move On To The WLA Final With A 9-8 Double OT Win

Down three games to one and on the brink of elimination, your New Westminster Salmonbellies fought back and had a heroic double OT win in Maple Ridge 9-8 to win the series in seven and move on to the WLA Final.

After a tight first period, the Bellies take the 2-1 lead into the dressing room with goals by Zach Herreweyers & Mitch Jones. The second period saw the Burrards outscore New West 4-1 and tale the 5-3 lead heading into the last frame. Only goal scorer for New West was Mitch Jones that period. With a full house at Cam Neely the atmosphere was electric with over half the fans traveling from the Royal City. The Burrards scored early and then Logan Schuss answered right back to make it a 6-4 lead.  The Belleis then scored the next three to make it 7-6 with but Ridge tied with 3 minutes to go and sned this into non sudden death OT.  Both team exchanged goals with New West tieng the game late in the first OT. Now on to sudden death where Mitch Jones with a beautiful shot down the middle to seal the win and series.

Crowley, Jones and Malcolm each with 4PTS each and Schuss with 3PTS, Alexis Buque was outstanding again in net facing 72 shots on 64 saves.
