The New Westminster Salmonbellies had to fight for every inch in game 4 of their WLA semi final series Darryl Robertson scored what was the biggest goal of his career with 18 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 9 but the Bellies lost the ensuing faceoff giving Maple Ridge the final possession and the Burrards made sure the Bellies paid dearly for losing that faceoff as Dane Dobbie scored with 2 seconds left and the Burrards walked out of queens park with a 10-9 win and a 3-1 series lead that pushes the Bellies to the Brink of elimination.
Mitch Jones had his 2nd straight 6 point night (2 goals, 4 assists) while Austin Shanks (2 goals, 1 assist), Darryl Robertson and Logan schuss ( 1 goal, 2 assists) had 3 points, Jason Jones(1 goal,1 assist) ,Kevin Crowley(1 goal, 1 assist) and Keegan bal( 2 assists) all had 2 points, Brandon Goodwin(1 goal), Jordan McBride (1 assist) and Justin Salt ( 1 assist) all contributed with single points.
The Salmonbellies power play went 4- 11 on the night (36% conversation rate) while the penalty kill finished 2-4 (50% kill rate). Alexis Buque backstopped the net tonight and made 29 saves on 39 shots; Neil Tyacke came in for 35 seconds and made the save on the only shot he faced. Defensive standouts included Brett and Reid Mydske, Curtis Hodgson, Mike Messenger (Mike was also 10-12 in the faceoff dot), Quinn Mackay, Jeff Henrick, Mike Donaldson and Ian Hawksbee.
The Salmonbellies will now head back to Cam Neely arena on Thursday August 8th for game 5 of this Best of 7 WLA semi-final series where they will look to continue their season game time is 7:30PM, game 6 if necessary would be back at Queens park arena this Saturday August 10th where game time is 7:30PM.
