Making Plans For The 2015 Season

As everyone has been enjoying the Christmas Season and bringing in the New Year , your 2015 New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies have been hard at work making plans for the 2015 season.  After getting the Sr Bellies back into the WLA Playoffs in 2014 , GM Dan Richardson and Coaches Steve Goodwin, Russ Heard and Darrin London have been hard at work preparing for the fast approaching 2015 season.

Work includes , draft interviews for graduating Juniors for the Feb 11TH  WLA Draft at the Langley Events Centre, Both telephone and in person. Contacting returning players and receiving their commitments for the 2015 season.  So far everyone is coming back and  All-star Defender Ian Hawksbee will be returning from a year hiatus due to work commitments, along with 2014 1st Round draft pick Reid Reinholdt who had to sit out the entire 2014 season due to a wrist injury. Getting those two into the lineup and adding two first round picks  from 2015 draft numbers 4 and 6 overall will bolster the Bellies chances in 2015.

Coach Goodwin liked that fact we got our team back in the playoffs in ’14 but wants to continue to push the envelope with this groups and definitely sees the ability to get to the WLA Finals in 2015.  In addition to the returning players,  and potential drafts management is looking at possible trades within the WLA and or recruiting additional players from the east to add to an already deep lineup.
