The annual WLA Junior Draft was held last night - here a recap of the Salmonbellies selections;

1st Round Pick 2nd overall Mike Messenger   Coquitlam Jr Adanacs 6’2” 220lb Right handed Transition- D, Natural Leader, Captained his Jr Team,  Face Off Specialist, can play at both ends of floor.

1st Round Pick 4th overall James Rahe Langley Jr Thunder 6’4” 215 lbs Right handed Offensive, Big body, goes to dirty areas, great shot, sees the floor well. Captained his Jr Team

2nd Round Pick 13th overall Dane Sorensen New Westminster Jr. Salmonbellies 6’ 195lb Right handed offensive, very good shot, gifted offensively.

5th Round 29th pick overall Tyler Kirkby Burnaby Jr Lakers  5’9” 160lb Offensive Righty, played up with Sr Bellies last year

5th Round 34th pick overall Chris Nasato New Westminster Jr Salmonbellies 6’ 200lb Offensive Lefty, put up some very good numbers his last year of Junior

6th Round 41st pick overall Derek Rouse  Langley Jr Thunder 6’1” 175lb Defensive Lefty. Tough Defensive specialist.

7th, 8th, 9th and 10th round picks  Thomas Kearns, Navi Mahal, Shawn Couzelis, an Nico Ballarin all from the New Westminster Junior B Salmonbellies
