Salmonbellies finish the regular season 15-3

With the last game against second place Victoria Shamrocks the Salmonbellies made the Sunday road trip to the island. In a game that meant nothing in the standings, both teams had some changes in the line ups as they prepare for the post season which starts August 1st for the Shamrocks vs the Timbermen and the Salmonbellies host the Burrards the following night, August 2nd 7:30Pm at Queens Park Arena.

But before that, the Bellies had to finish the regular season. With Buque and Belanger ended up splitting the game the first saw a slow start for both sides and ended up in a 2-2 tie. Brett Mydske and Jordan McBride found the back of the net.  After exchanging goals in the second period, New West opened it up and scored four straight. Lead by both Logan Schuss and Daniel McQuade with two each and Jordan McBride with his second of the night.  The third was quite with one goal by Lyndon Bunio. New west with the 80-4 win and a final record of 15-3 for the season.

Alexis Buque in 30:25 minutes of play with 18 saves on 22 shots while Tye Belanger shut the door allowing no goals on 14 shots of 29:20 of playing time.

Logan Schuss wins the WLA scoring title with 105 points (37 goals and 68 assist) and captures the WLA Three Star top award. Huge congrats for a phenomenal year for Logan.
