Salmonbellies keep rolling with 11-6 win over Coquitlam




With the first meeting of the year against the Adanacs, Schuss, Malcom and M Jones dominated with 9 combined goals to go 5 -0 to start the 2018 WLA season. With Tye Belanger suspended from Thursday night tilt vs Langley, Eric Kratz was called up form the New West Junior A club to back up starter Alexis Buque. 


A slow start for New West with tons of scoring opportunities in the first. Down 1-0  mid way through the first, Malcom got a short handed goal to tie it u at 12:16. Coquitlam answered back followed by back to back goals by New West to take the lead 3-2 after 20. Bellies goals: Malcom, Mitch Jones and Bunio.


On the power play to start the second, Malcom inside had an incredible short side goal to beat Gallant to take a 4-2 lead. Less than a minute later Mitch Jones scored and New West was up 5-2. Coquitlam not done yet added two quick goals before Schuss went back to back in just over 60 second. New West up 7-5 after the second period. Bellies gaols: Schuss with two, Malcom and Mitch Jones. 


New West put the game away in the third with four unanswered goals by Mitch Jones, Schuss, Malcom and Jordan McBride with his first of the game.
