May 1st, 2016

New Westminster: New Westminster Sr Salmonbellies are very pleased to announce the acquisition of Anthony Malcom, 6 ft 1” 190lb offensive righty, from the Langley Sr Thunder for the rights to James Rahe.
Malcolm is a native of New Westminster who played all his minor and junior lacrosse in the city of New Westminster. His last year of playing junior with the Bellies saw him amass 61 points in 14 regular season games and another 43 points in playoffs.
He plays in the NLL for the Buffalo Bandits where he has put up 38 points this past season. President and GM Dan Richardson says, “We have kept our eye on Anthony since we missed out on him in the 2015 draft where he was taken 3rd overall and went on to put up 49 points in his rookie season and was co-awarded the WLA Rookie of the year with the Bellies, Eric Penney.” Richardson goes on to say, "Anthony has unbelievable speed and his lacrosse IQ is very high. Were very excited to add a top flight player who we believe compliments an already very fast tempo offence."

Salomnbellies open up at home May 26th at 7:00PM at Queens Park Arena versus the Nanaimo Timbermen. It will also be New Westminster Minor Lacrosse Appreciation Night. All New Westminster Minor players in attendance will be eligible to win numerous prizes valued at $2500.00 total. New Westminster Minor Lacrosse players and their families all get in free for the home opener. Hope to see you all there!
