WLA Announces 2020 Schedule
Maple Ridge and New West, Langley and Nanaimo Start Open Season May 21
Burnaby, B.C., February 11, 2020 – The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) has released the 2020 schedule as the 100-day countdown begins to Opening Night on May 21st, 2020.
Fans on both the mainland and the Island will have options on opening night with the Maple Ridge Burrards visiting Queen’s Park Arena to face off against the New Westminster Salmonbellies, and the Langley Thunder heading to Frank Crane Arena for a tilt against the Nanaimo Timbermen.The defending WLA Champion, Victoria Shamrocks, open their season at The Q Centre on May 22nd against the Burnaby Lakers.

The regular season will run through July 31st, followed by the playoffs tentatively scheduled for August 4th to August 31st, and the 2020 Mann Cup will be in Ontario from September 4th to 12th.
The Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) is an amateur league of men’s Senior A box lacrosse
sanctioned by the Canadian Lacrosse Association. The WLA consists of seven teams, based in
cities throughout southwestern British Columbia, playing an 18-game schedule from late May to
the end of July. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the right to compete against the Major Series Lacrosse champion (Ontario) for the Mann Cup every September. The championship is
hosted alternately between Ontario (MSL) and British Columbia (WLA) every year.
