Bellies add Hackel as Assistant GM

The New Westminster Salmonbellies are pleased to announce Chris Hackel as the new Assistant GM. After spending the last 3 seasons as GM with the Senior B Ladner Pioneers and winning 3 consecutive Presidents Cup Championships, Chris Hackel will work alongside President & GM Ray Porcellato. 

“Hacks will be a great addition to our staff," says Porcellato.  "He has amazing energy and work ethic. He has a great relationship with the lacrosse community right across Canada, and we are lucky to have him”.

Asked about the move, Hackel explained, “I was drafted by the Bellies so it feels like I’m coming home again a little bit. It’s an amazing opportunity for me to join such a prestigious organization that is focused on winning the Mann Cup."

Hackel had a lengthy career in the Western Lacrosse Association, spanning 21 seasons.  He suited up for the Senior A Salmonbellies in 2003 and 2004.  Hackel retired from playing in 2016, but his passion for the game is well-known and he was soon involved with the Ladner Pioneers.  That team was able to accomplish an astonishing President's Cup three-peat from 2022-2024.
